Enjoy piecing together this great Mercedes-Benz hydrogen cars jigsaw puzzle online. The three Mercedes cars are pictured at the Zero Rally 2012 which took place in Norway from 14th June and 16th June 2012.
The Zero Rally is an annual race for cars which have zero pollutant emission or low emissions. It is open to anyone with a roadworthy electric, hydrogen, biofuel or plug-in hybrid car. Amateurs can compete with professional drivers in a thrilling race through beautiful scenery whilst not having to feel guilty about their fun doing anything to pollute the environment. More than 50 teams took part in the 2012 event which took place along a route known as the "Green Highway" from the Eastern Swedish coastal city of Sundsvall by the Gulf of Bothnia to Trondheim in Norway.
The word ZERO not only indicates the pollution-free aspect of the rally, but also stands for Zero Emission Resource Organisation. This is a not-for profit organisation which has, since its inception in 2002, been promoting the use of technology and policies which are climate-friendly with zero emissions of damaging pollutants. They hope that the rally will help to contribute toward making electric, hydrogen and oter green-powered vehicles competitive with gas-guzzling eco-unfriendly cars.
Mads Ostberg, who competed for the first time in 2010 won the 2012 Zero Rally in a Tesla Roadster. This was his second year in a row of winning. He describes the rally as a real race with cars that don't make noise, not just an electric car folly. This is a really positive trend as development of racing cars is far faster than regular vehicles. Scandinavia is viewed as a potential early market for elecric and hydrogen fuel cell cars, hence the location of the rally in that part of the world,
Different categories of cars had their own individual winners. Rune Holmen and Arild Fallan from Enova racing team won the hydrogen car category in a Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell car, similar to those pictured in this jigsaw puzzle. As wel as the race itself, the event incliuded a car exhibition and a program of interesting talks about various topics surrounding green transport and related subjects.
