In this addictive game, your aim is to create a tile of value 2048. You start the game with two low numbered tiles.
Use your keyboard's arrow keys to push all of the tiles in one direction, left, right, up or down.
If you collide two tiles of the same value together, they'll merge into one single whose value is the sum of the two tiles. For example if you collide two 2s you'll get a 4 tile. Each time you collide two matching tiles your score will increase by the sum of the two tiles.
After every move a new tile will appear in one of the blank squares. Use strategy to plan ahead to try to get to the 2048 tile.
Tips on how to win at 2048
One method of trying to get that elusive 2048 tile involves attempting to create a chain of numbers from low to high on one of the sides of the game, with your highest number in one of the corners. The main snag with this is that you'll often find that you're forced into moving your chain away from the side when there's no other move available, and a new tile may appear in one of the side squares where your chain was, thus breaking your chain if you try to push the chain back to the side. This is part of the fun of the game though, and improvisation is part of the trick to win at 2048.
