Lunar Lander is a classic arcade game which continues to be just as much fun now as it was when it was first played on those big old arcade video machines of the late 70s and early 80s - The great thing now is that you can play it right here on Springfrog for free and not have to keep popping in your coins to play! One of the appeals of Lunar Lander is that the game uses true gravity physics in the moon landing simulations, so you can get a real feeling of what it's like to be an astronaut up there in space trying to gently manoeuvre your ship to land safely on an even surface. You can choose between landing on the Moon, Earth or Jupiter, each with its own unique gravity simulation. In this faithful java version of Lunar Lander, use your left arrow and right arrow keys to activate your attitude thrusters which change the direction your lander is pointing. Holding down your space bar activates your main rocket thruster. To have a safe landing you need to gently touch down on one of the flat blue landing pads. Be sure that your lander is not dropping too fast when it lands, otherwise the shock of impact could destroy your space craft. Landing successfully allows you to gather enough fuel to fill half of your tanks. Be careful of landing in the same place twice in a row - the landing site needs time to settle again after your rocket takes off so if you try to land there again immediately you'll crash.
